In what is an intriguing option for those in search of high potency infused edibles, Auntie Dolores has created a medicated twist on one of my personal favorite snacks – cheese crackers.
Auntie Dolores Puts Their Spin On High Potency Infused Edibles
Based in San Francisco, Auntie Dolores has built a reputation for creating infused edible options that are low in calories and high in potency. They have a wide variety of products to choose from and they can be found at collectives throughout the State of California.
“A package of Medical Cannabis Cheese Crackers is the most potent product in Auntie Dolores’ entire line.”
The Auntie Dolores product line has something for just about everyone. It consists of sweets like Chocolate Fudge Cake and a variety of Brownie Bites, including: Chocolate Toffee, Mint Chip, Chocolate Peanut Butter, and Triple Chocolate.
However, what excites me most is that Auntie Dolores has a number of edible options for those with special dietary restrictions. For instance, they produce cannabis infused pretzels that are vegan and sugar free, gluten free caramel corn, and cheese crackers that are sugar free and gluten free.
Interestingly, a package of Medical Cannabis Cheese Crackers is the most potent product in Auntie Dolores’ entire line. With so few options available for low calorie, high potency edibles, I have to applaud them for delivering on both ends of the spectrum.
Infused Cheese Crackers: Sugar Free, Gluten Free, High Potency
After reviewing the Auntie Dolores Chili Lime Peanuts at the 2013 Emerald Cup, I was more than excited to try more of their products. I don’t personally care for anything with a chili lime flavor profile, but I got the feeling that I could find something more my style.
Considering the fact that I basically grew up on Cheez-It crackers, I was ecstatic to learn about the Medical Cannabis Cheese Crackers. My excitement only grew as I took a look at the packaging, and was reminded that each Auntie Dolores product is clearly labeled with the ingredients and nutrition information. They list the following ingredients for their Cheese Crackers:
- Cannabis Extract
- Brown Rice Flour
- Butter
- Cheddar Cheese
- Potato Starch
- Salt
- Xantham Gum
- Dry Mustard
- Egg
- Rice Vinegar
- Paprika
- Cayenne Pepper
- Baking Powder
In addition to the ingredients, Auntie Dolores provides lab testing information from Steep Hill Halent for each of their products. According to their website, the test results for each package of their Cheese Crackers is as follows:
- 514 milligrams of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC)
- 18.9 milligrams of cannabidiol (CBD)
- 8.4 milligrams of tetrahydrocannabinolic acid (THCA)
- 13 milligram of cannabinol (CBN)
How Will Auntie Dolores’ Medicated Cheese Crackers Affect Me?
As far as taste is concerned, Auntie Dolores’ Cheese Crackers can be best described as a mixture of butter, salt, cannabis with sprinkle of cheddar cheese flavor.
I found it difficult to eat more than one cracker at a time without a drink to wash it down, but the obvious cannabis taste did offer a hint as to the cracker’s potency.
There is no doubt that Auntie Dolores Cheese Crackers are best suited for high tolerance patients. Each individual cracker contains 25 milligrams of THC, which could be intimidating for some low-tolerance patients. Personally, I found the high potency of each cracker to be a definite plus.
“The third cracker is where the body melting pain relief started to come into play, causing a noticeable couch-lock effect.”
Either way, knowing the amount of THC in each individual cracker makes it incredibly easy for patients to determine the appropriate dosage for themselves.
Those who are unsure of what to expect are encouraged to eat just one cracker, wait 30-40 minutes, and eat another cracker as needed.
This is the way that I approached eating the Auntie Dolores crackers for the first time, and I didn’t notice much of a difference with the first cracker. Within 15 minutes of eating the second cracker, I began to feel the pent-up tension in my neck and shoulder start to release.
Still, the third cracker is where the body melting pain relief started to come into play, causing a noticeable couch-lock effect. Of course, this will vary for each patient depending on their tolerance level.
Overall, I would have to say that the the Auntie Dolores Medical Cannabis Cheese Crackers are a great option for high tolerance patients in search of something different than the typical sweet-tasting edibles. I would personally like to see a bit more cheese used in the recipe, but that’s coming from the same guy who was raised on Cheez-It crackers…
