Infused PB and J Cookie From Green Gold Baking Co.

With a focus on creating low-dose, gourmet infused edibles, Green Gold Baking Co. has been on a mission since launching nearly a year ago. The company has taken an obvious interest in developing cannabis-infused treats that are organically-made and gluten-free, including their PB and J cookie.

Green Gold Baking Co. Produces Organically-Made Edibles

Based in Los Angeles, Green Gold Baking Co. is a relatively young infused edible company. The company launched in July of last year, and secured funding shortly after.

Green Gold Baking Co. is committed to using the finest local organic ingredients available to craft gourmet infused edibles. It’s partially for this reason that the company uses coconut oil as the infusion solvent in each one of their recipes.

Green Gold is rooted in its belief that low dose edibles are the way to go. In fact, their three most potent products each clock-in at 55 milligrams of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

The PB and J Cookie is one of these options. It is produced using coconut oil that was made from the Blue Dream strain.

PB and J: Gluten-Free Peanut Butter Cookie With Raspberry Jam

This was just my second time reviewing one of Green Gold Baking Co.’s products, and I was intrigued from the moment I saw it. I’ve always been a fan of peanut butter cookies, but I never even considered adding jelly to the equation.

In talking with Peter Lograsso, co-founder of Green Gold, I learned that they aim to have to an artisan quality and appearance with each of their infused edibles. The PB and J cookie in particular consists of a thick peanut butter cookie topped with a healthy amount of raspberry jam. The ingredients are listed on the packaging as follows:

  • Cannabis Oil
  • Peanut Butter
  • Coconut Sugar
  • Almond Flour
  • Egg
  • Celtic Sea Salt
  • Raspberry Jam

How Will Green Gold’s PB and J Cookie Affect Me?

At first glance, I figured that I was in for a treat. The cookie itself had the sort of homey appeal that one would expect to fnd in grandma’s kitchen, and the soft, crumbly texture I’ve come to expect from gluten-free cookies.

As far as flavor is concerned, I would much rather take a bite of the cookie with jam than without. The organic peanut butter taste of the cookie itself was enjoyable, but the texture made it obvious that the cookie was in fact gluten-free.

Thankfully, this was remedied a bit when when taking a bite with a lot of raspberry jam. Not only did it help with the dry texture, but its complementary flavor profile really made for a better experience overall.

“I would consider the PB and J cookie to be ideal for patients in need of stress relief in the late afternoon/early evening hours.”

Each Green Gold product is lab tested by The Werc Shop in Southern California. According to them, each PB and J cookie contains 55 milligrams of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC).

I began to notice the effects of the PB and J cookie just 20 minutes after eating it, which is 10-15 minutes sooner than I would have expected. I attributed this rapid onset to the fact that Green Gold uses coconut oil to infuse their edibles.

Nonetheless, the effects were best described as relaxing. Anxiety became nonexistant and my elevatated stress levels from a busy work week improved almost instantly.

For this reason, I would consider the PB and J cookie to be ideal for patients in need of stress relief in the late afternoon/early evening hours. It could also be a great option for low-tolerance patients in search of a natural sleep aid.
