I came across this particular batch of Banana Diesel on my recent trip to SFVDM in Van Nuys, CA, and immediately knew that I was in for a treat. The flowers were a peculiar shade of green, and dusted with a healthy heaping of powder white trichomes.
Judging from the name alone, I knew that I was in for a treat with the Banana Diesel strain. While I assumed that the Sour Diesel strain was a definite part off the equation, I was unsure of where the “banana” came from.

After a short stint of research, I came to the realization that the Banana Diesel strain is a hybrid with a number of classic strains in its lineage. The strain combines the genetics of the Banana Kush, Super Silver Haze, and Sour Diesel strains all in one compact package.
More specifically, the Banana Kush strain was crossed with the Super Sour Diesel strain (Super Silver Haze X Sour Diesel) in order to create the Banana Diesel strain… and for good reason.
How Will The Banana Diesel Cannabis Strain Affect Me?
With such hybridized genetics, it’s hard to say whether the Banana Kush is more of an Indica, or more of a Sativa. Each phenotype of the Banana Diesel strain will express slightly different characteristics.

This particular batch of the Banana Diesel strain seemed to lean a bit more towards the Indica-dominant Banana Kush strain.
