About this Organization

Founded in 2004, the Society of Cannabis Clinicians (SCC) is a group of physicians and allied professionals dedicated to conducting quality medical cannabis research, to ensuring the safety and confidentiality of all research subjects, and to maintaining the highest quality of standards and risk management. They provide high quality cannabis education to clinicians, caretakers, and patients.

The Society of Cannabis Clinicians (SCC) was formed as a project of the California Cannabis Research Medical Group (CCRMG). Clinician members agree to voluntary practice standards for recommending and approving cannabis for patients under state medical laws.

President
Dr. Jeffrey Hergenrather is a cannabis consultation physician who practices in Northern California. He is also President of the Society of Cannabis Clinicians, Vice President of the American Academy of Cannabinoid Medicine (AACM), and a member of the International Cannabinoid Research Society. Formerly, Dr. Hergenrather worked as a family practitioner. He received his MD from Brown University in 1975 and believes that cannabis is an alternative/complementary medicine with trivial negative impacts.
